I’m sure this email is not finding you well, but I hope it brings you a glimmer of joy during wild times.
I just received my first “music supervisor” credit on my friend’s short film Dating Daze. It’s incredible to think about how a script begins as an idea casually over dinner or brunch, and to watch her finish this project along with the entire crew—director, co-producers, videographers, editors—has been fascinating.
The short film follows two 20-somethings one night in Brooklyn during their first date as they ponder “Is it worth the risk?” We were able to work with Zovi, a beautiful soul and talented singer-songwriter who also appeared at Intermissions & Interludes with their band Three6Nine.
I curated a fresh playlist full of music inspired by the film, including Zovi’s song “Bluebird (To Him)” which I’m sharing for this month’s music recommendations. Listen and subscribe to the “Dating Daze” playlist on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.
We’re celebrating the finished film tomorrow during a private screening! Send the creator and crew all of your well wishes as they begin pitching to film festivals over the next few weeks. For Justice & Joy,
