According to the Gregorian calendar, it’s a new year for some, and many more will welcome a new year in the Spring. However you mark new beginnings, it is the start of a new month and that means music recommendations. Be sure to follow the Tuned In playlist for regular updates this year!
This month’s recommendations include Scottish singer and songwriter, Emeli Sandé, who released an album late last year—How Were We To Know. “True Colors” is on my themed playlist (below) for the year and I’ve also had “Love” on repeat.
No matter what big cities I call home, I’m still partly a country girl at heart, and Mon Rovîa satisfies my indie folk itch. “Big Love Ahead” and “Love, a Choice.” are a couple of favorites included this month.
And if you’re looking for a good instrumental album, I was introduced to Adam Blackstone’s Legacy recently. The project includes collaborations with other favorites like Terrace Martin, Cory Henry, and Robert Glasper.
Here’s an additional exclusive playlist selah (which means “pause” or “stop and listen”) to carry you through the rest of the wintry season.
Follow this year’s theme playlist: FLOURISH.
